YGAM secures leaders pledge to participate in Safer Gambling Training

Industry CEOs and Directors have pledged to participate in the Safer Gambling Training modules designed by education experts YGAM and Betknowmore. 

The pledge by industry leadership has been undertaken to highlight the importance of staff training and development as an industry discipline during Safer Gambling Week (1-7 November).

Leaders will complete five online modules during the week covering important topics including customer vulnerability, mental health, safeguarding, customer interaction, and support services.

Designed by a lived experience approach, YGAM and Betknowmore modules have been developed to encompass the most comprehensive staff training on the full spectrum of gambling harm complexities.

 “We are pleased to see so many industry leaders committing to this training during Safer Gambling Week.” said Niall O’Connor, a member of the YGAM  Safer Gambling Training team.

 “It is really encouraging to see Chief Executives and Directors from across the industry getting involved including representatives from the Rank Group, Gamesys, Playtech, Broadway Gaming and many more. We’re looking forward to building on this to support more customer-facing teams to protect customers and prevent harm.”

YGAM  training has been awarded the prestigious City & Guilds Assured status following a robust evaluation process, meaning everyone who completes the programmes will receive formal certification.

For Safer Gambling Week, industry leaders will participate in YGAM and Betknowmore’s five-day programmes covering the subject matters of –  Understanding customer vulnerability, Responding to gambling-related harms, safeguarding and managing welfare, enhancing skills for customer interaction and engagement with gambling support services.

All profits generated from the ‘Safer Gambling Training Leaders Pledge’ will be directed back into the YGAM and Betknowmore charities to support their social purpose.
