Application Submitted for New Bradford Bingo Hall

By | December 23, 2022

Bradford bingo fans could be in for some 2023 cheer if plans submitted for a new bingo hall receive approval from Bradford Council.

LOL Bingo has submitted plans to turn an empty unit at Enterprise 5 Retail Park in Bradford, into a bingo hall. The application if successful will change the use of the unit into a bingo hall with “ancillary amusements.”

LOL Bingo currently operates a branch in Harpurhey Shopping Centre, Manchester, and has said a proposed Bradford bingo hall would be run on a smaller scale. With just 36 bingo terminals, this should be one of the smaller bingo clubs around. In fact, the number of gaming machines (35) means that the ‘arcade’ type of entertainment is given almost equal weight.

The proposed bingo hall is expected to be open between the hours of 10am -10pm; the Hapurhey branch in Manchester is open those hours, seven days a week.

A decision by Bradford Council is expected to be made in February 2023.

Better Times Ahead for UK Bingo?

In an age when bingo halls are closing left, right and centre, following the decimation of the UK bingo hall scene from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is good to see the UK bingo community are not being completely abandoned. Although the proposed bingo hall is on a smaller-than-normal scale and is only at the proposal stage, a new Bingo hall Bradford should be applauded.

Let’s hope for more positive bingo news in 2023 and beyond.
