Gaming Innovation Group has further expanded its presence In the US by obtaining new online gaming licenses. The Malta-headquartered tech company has received an Online Sports Wagering Operator License in Maryland and a full Interactive Gaming Manufacturer License in Pennsylvania.
The great news comes ahead of the long-anticipated launch of new partner brands on GiG’s technology, which will strengthen the regulatory reach of its leading iGaming platform and sportsbook in North America.
Strong Focus on Expansion
Building on its five-year presence in the United States with the existing licenses in New Jersey and Iowa, GiG has cemented its position as a leading platform and sportsbook provider in North America. Last year, the company also debuted in the Ontario market after receiving a supplier license from AGCO.
The license received from the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA) will let GiG power the launch of Crab Sports scheduled for May. Positioning itself as a brand “backed by Maryland people”, Crab Sports is focused on the local market and aims to deliver the best gaming experience.
Additionally, Gaming Innovation Group has obtained a full license from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB). Last October, the company shared the news about receiving interim authorization in the state and ambitious plans for new launches of gambling websites in collaboration with its partners.
Claudio Caruana, General Counsel for GiG says:
“Having placed a strong focus on expansion in regulated markets, we’re understandably pleased with the confirmation of our licenses in two new US states. Regulation will continue to drive the industry in North America, as markets mature, allowing us to support and protect operators and their customers, establishing suitable, robust frameworks for sustainable growth.”
Record 2022 & Bright Future for GiG
Taking pride in the company’s record financial results in 2022, GiG has positioned itself as a global leader that covers more than 30 markets with more iGaming destinations waiting in the wings. Based on the easy configuration and event-driven architecture, the success of its platform, which received the prestigious ISO 20000 certification last November, is also fueled by the full understanding of operators’ needs.
Commenting on the latest developments and achievements, Marcel Elfersy, Chief Commercial Officer at GiG said:
“With our plans to open our new US hub later this year and having recently been shortlisted with EGR North America in the full-service platform provider of the year category, our new licensed status in these very attractive online markets creates further opportunity for us to add value for new and established partners in the region.
“We’re excited about the possibilities these new states provide, starting with the launch of Crab Sports in Maryland in May on our PAM and sportsbook.”
