New Hampshire Sets a New Sports Betting Record of $99.5 Million in January

Namely, January was very favorable for this state, as shown by the published figures. The state set a new monthly sports betting handle record of exactly $99.5m (or in other currencies – £74.2m/€89.1m).

However, this is not the only record set in the state. New Hampshire reached as much as $8m in state income.

This year, players were a bit more interested in sports betting, so in the first month, they invested as much as 66.4% more than the previous January when the punters invested as much as $59.8m.

Figures show that during the first month of 2022, players invested 15.2% more in sports betting than in the last month of the previous year when $86.4m was invested.

The previous record set by the state was in October last year when figures reached as much as $98.2m.

Mobile App or Retail?

According to the data, we can see that punters in most cases opted for the Draft Kings’ mobile application, considering that it was invested online as much as $81.6m.

The rest of the revenue came from three retailers, $18.0m to be exact.

Revenue from games saw an increase of 90.5% compared to the same month last year when the figure was $4.2m. Also, this income is 207.7% higher than revenue in December which was only $2.6m. Of course, the money paid to players after winnings ($8.0m) is not included in the above figures.

This state also collected as much as $3.9m in sports wagering tax. Of the total, online betting is credited for $3.5m and retails for $395,969.

As of January 2022, the handle on the financial year-to-date was as much as $508.5m. Also, we must not forget the gross gaming income, which reached as much as $31.3m.

After sports betting was legalized in New York State earlier this year, government officials want to legalize another form of entertainment.

Namely, Senator Joseph P. Addabbo Jr introduced Bill S8412 which will enable iGaming to be legalized in Empire State. This new step will be very beneficial for the state, as evidenced by the income of $1bn during the last year in New York as well as Pennsylvania.
