Ontario iGaming Sees Casumo Wind Down Operations

By | April 15, 2026

Casumo’s decision to leave Ontario adds another example of turnover within the province’s regulated online gaming sector, as the operator begins a phased shutdown of its local platform after more than three years of activity.

The company has set a structured exit plan that will see all Ontario-based play come to an end on April 30, followed by full account closures on May 14. Users have been informed through on-site notices and direct communication that remaining balances should be managed before those deadlines.

Phased Shutdown Begins With User Notifications

The withdrawal process started on April 1, when Casumo began emailing Ontario customers to confirm its decision to leave the market. At the same time, new registrations were disabled and withdrawal conditions were adjusted through minimum limits as part of the transition.

The operator has also broken down its exit into a sequence of cut-off points. April 8 serves as the final opportunity for players to claim any outstanding bonuses. After that date, only already-activated bonuses remain accessible, with usability continuing until April 30.

Further restrictions follow later in the month, with deposits no longer accepted after April 23. The final day of gameplay across the Ontario platform is set for April 30, after which no further wagering activity will be permitted.

Casumo will close all accounts on May 14. Any unwithdrawn funds at that point will be forfeited under the closure terms.

Exit Comes After Early Entry Into Ontario Market

Casumo entered Ontario’s regulated iGaming space in 2022 after receiving approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. The company launched during the early phase of the province’s regulated online gambling framework, which began in November of that year.

During its time in the market, Casumo offered a broad content library that included more than 3,300 slot titles, along with table games and live dealer products. Its catalogue featured content from multiple suppliers, including Playtech, Pragmatic Play, Light & Wonder, NetEnt, and Play’n GO.

Although the Ontario closure marks a full exit from the province, Casumo continues to operate in other parts of Canada. Its offerings remain available in provinces such as Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec, and regions in Atlantic Canada. Whether the operator intends to participate in Alberta’s upcoming regulated iGaming launch, scheduled for July 13, has not been confirmed.

Operator Turnover Remains a Feature of Ontario Market

Ontario’s regulated iGaming sector hosts dozens of licensed operators competing for market share. While many remain active, several have exited since launch.

Casumo joins Fitzdares, Betiton and MagicRed Casino, and the Wildz group, all of which left last year. Toronto-based Rivalry also suspended Ontario operations earlier this year.

Some exits were attributed to commercial pressure. Fitzdares cited “the cost of doing business was becoming prohibitive,” while Wildz Group shifted toward B2B technology services.

Ontario currently has 48 licensed operators across 82 gaming sites. The latest, BetNova, launched April 9. These platforms compete with each other and Ontario Lottery and Gaming, with online casino making up most monthly wagering and revenue.

Casumo’s exit reflects ongoing adjustments in Ontario’s competitive iGaming landscape as operators reassess their positions.
