Pennsylvania Gaming Revenue Hits $602M in March

By | April 21, 2026

Pennsylvania’s gaming sector recorded $602.4 million in total revenue for March, reflecting a 4.9% increase compared with the same period last year. The latest figures show continued expansion across several segments, with sports betting delivering the strongest growth during the month.

Sports Betting Drives Monthly Growth

Revenue from sports wagering climbed sharply, rising 77.1% year-over-year to $47.8 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort reported the highest betting handle in the state at $243.6 million, generating $18.6 million in revenue. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows followed with a handle of $211.8 million and revenue of $14.5 million, while Hollywood Casino York posted $2.6 million in revenue from $64.6 million in wagers.

Among overall casino performance, Hollywood Casino at Penn National led the state with $116.3 million in total gaming revenue, marking an 8.5% increase. Valley Forge Casino Resort generated $98.8 million, up 14.6%, while Parx Casino recorded $57.8 million, representing a slight decline of 1.7%.

Online Gaming Continues Upward Trend

Internet gaming remained a major contributor to the state’s results, producing $254.7 million in March revenue, an increase of 6.9% from the previous year. Hollywood Casino at Penn National again ranked first in this category, reporting $100.8 million, which reflects an 11.1% gain.

Valley Forge Casino Resort followed with $67.4 million in iGaming revenue, rising 4.1%, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia added $40.3 million, up 4.2%. The continued growth of online platforms highlights their expanding role within Pennsylvania’s broader gaming market.

Earlier in the year, online gaming played a similar role in driving results. In January 2026, total gaming revenue reached $590,644,755, representing an 11.6% increase compared with January 2025. During that month, iGaming alone accounted for $249.3 million, with Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course generating $96.2 million, up 20.7%. Valley Forge Casino Resort and Rivers Casino Philadelphia also reported double-digit growth in that period.

Slot Revenue Declines Persist

While other segments expanded, slot machine revenue declined again in March. Total slot revenue fell 2.8% to $216.2 million, with 14 operators across the state reporting losses. Parx Casino recorded $33.6 million in slot revenue, down 2.3%, while Wind Creek Bethlehem generated $25.3 million, a decrease of 2%. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh reported $23.8 million, falling 3.5%.

The pattern of declining slot performance has appeared in previous months as well. In December 2025, overall gaming revenue rose 15.76% year-over-year to $616.7 million, supported by gains in online gaming and sports betting. During that period, several properties, including Parx Casino and Wind Creek Bethlehem, also reported lower results from slot operations.

Despite the continued drop in slot revenue, Pennsylvania’s gaming industry has maintained overall growth through gains in digital gaming and sports wagering. Tax contributions have remained substantial, with $255.8 million generated in December and $249,969,629 collected in January.

The March results reinforce a broader trend in the state’s gaming market, where online platforms and sports betting continue to offset declines in traditional segments, supporting overall revenue growth.
