Play’n GO has released its latest Sustainability Report, outlining a significant year as the company marked two decades in the gaming industry while advancing environmental and social commitments. The document details performance across four focus areas—Players, Partners, People and Planet—showing how sustainability remains integrated into its overall strategy.
The 2025 reporting period stands out as the company’s strongest to date in sustainability outcomes. Efforts centered on improving governance, ensuring reliable data, and expanding innovation across operations. The report highlights advancements in environmental measures, responsible game development, workforce initiatives, and collaborations aligned with long-term goals.
Vanessa Björkbacka, Director of CSR at Play’n GO, said: “We have always believed that great entertainment should be fun, safe and fair,” said Vanessa. “This report reflects two decades of learning, evolution and commitment to doing things the right way. Sustainability is not a separate initiative for us – it is embedded into how we design our games, how we work with partners, and how we build the business for the long term.”
Climate Targets Surpassed Ahead Of Schedule
Environmental performance features prominently, with the company exceeding its long-term targets for Scope 1 and 2 emissions. The reduction goal of 90 percent was achieved well ahead of global timelines, surpassing milestones set by major international frameworks by 15 to 25 years.
The company also reported a 69 percent drop in Scope 3emissions compared to its 2023 baseline. Total material emissions remained below 500 MTCO2e for 2025, reflecting ongoing efforts to manage environmental impact across the value chain.
Play’n GO expanded its influence across the United States, bringing local audience lots of new products. A partnership with Genting UK led to the introduction of its first land-based gaming solution. The offering focuses on reducing energy consumption, minimizing hardware needs, and lowering electronic waste while maintaining player engagement.
Focus On Players And Workforce Development
Player wellbeing continues to guide the company’s approach to game design. Play’n GO has maintained its stance against sweepstakes, considering them it considers harmful to users, emphasizing transparency and balanced gameplay. The company also contributed to discussions on digital wellbeing and cognitive health, including participation in global forums such as the United Nations and G7.
Employee development formed another key area of progress. During 2025, 43 percent of staff took part in artificial intelligence-related learning programs. Training efforts increased overall, with employees averaging more than seven hours of learning during the year. Leadership initiatives, wellbeing programs, and community engagement activities also expanded, with more staff joining volunteer time-off efforts.
Governance and reporting standards received further attention, with the company aligning disclosures to frameworks such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the World Economic Forum’s Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics. Investments in secure, AI-supported carbon data systems aimed to strengthen accuracy and transparency.
Björkbacka added: “As expectations on transparency and accountability continue to rise, we see it as our responsibility to lead. Our partners, regulators and players all benefit when sustainability data is credible, measurable and meaningful. This report is about equipping them – and ourselves – with information that supports better decision-making.”
