Pragmatic Play Shifts Resources to Core Casino Segments

By | June 9, 2026

Pragmatic Play is preparing to withdraw several offerings as it concentrates on its most successful business segments. The Gibraltar-based supplier plans to gradually retire its sportsbook, bingo, and virtual sports products, while increasing focus on slots, live casino, crash games, and RNG products. This transition is set to take place over the coming months, with support provided to operators moving to alternative solutions to ensure a smooth migration.

A company spokesperson explained: “Following a strategic review, we have made the decision to focus on our core market-leading verticals – in particular, slots, live casino, crash and RNG. These areas continue to demonstrate strong performance and represent the company’s primary long-term strategic focus.

“As a result, Pragmatic Play will no longer offer Bingo and Sportsbook products, following a transition period during which we will support our partners as they migrate to alternative platforms. We are working closely with partners to support this transition.”

Returning Focus to Core Strengths

Pragmatic Play originally launched its bingo platform in 2018 and added sportsbook in 2022 as part of a broader strategy to expand beyond its slots origins. Since its market entry in 2015, the company has become one of the largest content suppliers in online gambling, with slots forming the foundation of its early success. Live casino, virtual sports, bingo, and sportsbook were later introduced to offer operators a wider selection of verticals within a single partnership.

Industry sources noted that the withdrawal is not performance-related. Management chose instead to channel resources into segments where the company already commands a leading position, seeking to maximize growth opportunities within its strongest business areas rather than continuing to invest in non-core categories.

Live Casino at the Forefront

Live casino continues to be a major growth driver, particularly in regulated markets where demand for localized content is rising. Earlier this year, chief revenue officer Mark Maislish shared plans to open two additional studios, building on a live casino facility launched in Bogotá, Colombia, in October 2025. Pragmatic Play has been investing heavily in studio infrastructure and developing content tailored to specific jurisdictions. Latin America has emerged as a strategic region as more countries implement regulated online gambling frameworks and suppliers compete to provide localized experiences.

Sustained Investment in Core Areas

While exiting sportsbook, bingo, and virtual sports, Pragmatic Play is maintaining its ambitious growth strategy. Resources will continue to be allocated toward product development, expansion of its international studio network, localization, and growth in regulated markets. Slots remain central to the company’s portfolio and continue to generate significant operator demand.

The restructuring underscores a strategic focus on segments with established market share and long-term growth potential. By concentrating on the verticals that initially fueled its success, Pragmatic Play aims to strengthen its position in a competitive online gambling landscape, ensuring continued relevance and growth across its core offerings.
