The Ukrainian Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAIL) has published the first responsible gambling regulations in the country, following a bill that was passed last year.
The bill that was passed last year legalized a wide range of online casinos and gambling activities. The published responsible gambling regulations guarantee players the option to set deposit limits and self-exclude. The regulation bans clockless casino halls and boarded up windows, as the players have the right to have an indicator of how much time they are spending gambling.
Also, player bonuses are banned. Casinos are banned from attracting customers via bonus payments, goods or services as incentives and any-loss contingent bonuses.
The state regulator is also making preparations to introduce a legislation to tax gambling and the current proposal rate being 10% on all verticals.
Furthermore, the responsible gambling regulations require operators to own a license, which were previously distributed by the Ukrainian Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAIL). The first gambling license by KRAIL was issued to Spacex for its Kosmolot brand.
Also, Parimatch, a Cyprus-based operator was granted a permission to operate in Ukraine in March 2021.

The Ukrainian Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries was formed in 2020, following a new regulation that was passed. The 2020 legalization made gambling legal once again. KRAIL approved the first online gambling license in February 2021 for a five-year period.
