Code Coven, the first award-winning accelerator for marginalised game developers, are the recipients of two awards at the NCFD FREDIE Awards 2022, which celebrates the very best champions of Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement!
Code Coven kicked off the evening by winning the Board/Senior Leadership Team of the Year which includes Tara Mustapha, Francesca Carletto-Leon, Karla Reyes and Stephanie Clayton! Congratulations to the team for creating safe spaces for marginalised game developers and for all the inclusivity and diversity you bring to the industry.
After the initial celebration, we were treated to a three course meal, and some excellent live musical performances.
Once again the awards continued on with vigorous momentum and we are so pleased to announce that our very own Founder, Tara Mustapha, won Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Year!
Tara Mustapha says “Winning this award is an honour and a privilege. Since our pilot course in 2019, Code Coven has empowered people of marginalised genders from over 35 countries around the world with subsidised education, tailor-matched mentorship with industry leaders, and a genuinely supportive community who uplift each other.
