Slots specialist reveals it grew by 57 per cent during first year since joining world’s leading cross-platform gaming company

Light & Wonder, Inc. has revealed that its specialist slots supplier LIGHTNING BOX has enjoyed a major surge in global growth following its acquisition.

Since joining the Light & Wonder family in August 2021, the studio has benefited from the Company’s superior expertise and commercial support, and has experienced year-on-year growth of 57 per cent while continuing to deliver its signature top-quality, land-based inspired entertainment to players around the world. In addition, August 2022 was Lightning Box’s biggest ever month in terms of revenues.

The Sydney-based supplier’s slot LIGHTNING SHENLONG entertainment platform, while LIGHTNING GORILLA – soon to be launched in Pennsylvania – has proven to be particularly popular in the U.S., sitting inside the top 20.

Light & Wonder’s dominance in the U.S. and Canadian online gaming market is underlined by the presence of three of its titles within the top 10 of the EGR North America slots rankings for July 2022, with Lightning Box’s CHICKEN FOX a new entry in the chart.

Lightning Box is currently live with more than 50 of the leading U.S. and European operators, including BetMGM, Golden Nugget, Hard Rock Casino, FanDuel, Resorts Casino, BCLC, Loto-Québec, OLG, Sky Bet, LeoVegas, William Hill, Betsson and many more, and releases up to 12 new titles every year through OpenGaming.

Peter Causley, CEO and co-founder of Lightning Box, said: “We knew that by joining Light & Wonder we would be able to drive forward with our ambitious plans, but even given the huge global power of the Company, the speed at which we have flourished has taken us aback. Our games continue to hit new heights of popularity around the world and we can’t wait to release new hits to penetrate U.S., Canadian and European markets even further.”

Dylan Slaney, CEO iGaming at Light & Wonder, said: “The team at Lightning Box has a wealth of industry experience that they have put to great use in producing some fantastic content that really resonates with players who enjoy land-based titles. The numbers that have been produced in the first 12 months after the acquisition speak for themselves and prove it was the right decision to bring Lightning Box into the Light & Wonder family. We look forward to breaking more records together in the months and years to come.”
