They say you never forget your first, and for the patrons at Club 3000 Bingo Doncaster, Friday the 4th of August was a night at least one lucky lady will never forget after scooping the first ever National Bingo Game Jackpot won at the club and bagging herself a life-changing £50,000 in the process.
The 59-year-old local lady who wishes to remain anonymous is a big bingo fan and has been a bingo regular for years, playing twice a week with friends at the new Club 3000 Bingo Doncaster venue since it opened in April this year.
Club 3000 Bingo Doncaster manager, Donna Elkin said:
“We were all so excited to celebrate the win alongside our winner. The atmosphere in the club was electric. Everyone was so happy for her. We can’t wait for the party where she will officially receive her presentation cheque for £50,000! It is especially special as it is the first time that the club has won the National Bingo Big Prize. We have loved being part of the community in Doncaster since the club became Club 3000 Bingo back in April this year.
Change of Owner, Change of Luck?
The jackpot win was not only the highest amount ever to be won at the club, and the first National Bingo Game Jackpot win in over 30 years of operation. The venue in East Leith Gate in Doncaster has had more than £750,000 spent on it since Club 3000 Bingo, the largest independent retail bingo chain in the UK, took it over from an ailing Mecca Bingo earlier this year.
And it seems a change of owner and a change of luck, as the good fortunes enjoyed by Club 3000 Bingo Wigan a few weeks ago and in Club 3000 Bingo Cwmbran a few months prior, have now spread to Club 3000 Bingo Doncaster just a few months after the Club 3000 Bingo took the place over.
