Club 3000 Bingo’s long-awaited move to a brand-new Bristol venue has taken another significant step forward after an application for a premises licence was officially submitted by Club Bingo 3000 owners Fraser Capital management Ltd, signalling further progress towards the company’s ambitious relocation plans.
The UK’s leading independent bingo operator has been working on proposals for a purpose-built club on Hartcliffe Way in Bedminster after being forced to leave its long-time home at Broadwalk Shopping Centre in Knowle.
As previously reported, the UK bingo company announced last summer that it had secured land for a replacement venue after receiving notice to vacate Broadwalk, bringing an end to more than a decade at the shopping centre.
Licensing Application Marks Latest Milestone
Following the submission of planning proposals, Club 3000 has now lodged an application for a premises licence, covering the sale of alcohol, late-night refreshments and regulated entertainment alongside bingo gaming.
The application represents another key stage in the development process and demonstrates the operator’s intention to deliver a full entertainment venue rather than simply replacing its former bingo hall.
If approved, the new club will feature a licensed bar, food facilities and modern customer amenities designed to create an enhanced social experience for players.
The licensing notice also confirms proposed opening hours extending into the evening, reflecting the operator’s plans to offer regular daytime and evening bingo sessions.
A New Home for Bristol’s Bingo Community
The proposed development at 37 Hartcliffe Way will replace the former commercial site with a purpose-built bingo club featuring approximately 144 parking spaces, including accessible bays and electric vehicle charging points.
According to plans released by Club 3000, the venue will also benefit from improved landscaping, better public transport links and dedicated pedestrian access.
The company has repeatedly stressed that remaining in South Bristol was a priority after Broadwalk Shopping Centre’s future became uncertain.
Club 3000 founder Brian Fraser previously described securing the new site as being “chuffed to bits”, saying the company wanted to continue serving the thousands of regular customers who have made the Bristol club one of its busiest venues.
Building on Earlier Announcements
The latest licensing application follows several months of steady progress.
Back in July, Bingo Daily revealed the surprise news that Club 3000 would be leaving Knowle for Bedminster after the company acquired land for a new venue.
We later reported how detailed plans for the new state-of-the-art club had been unveiled, including the first images of the proposed building, parking arrangements and customer facilities.
Since then, Club 3000 has continued consulting with local residents while progressing through the planning and licensing process.
What Happens Next?
The premises licence application will now be considered alongside the wider planning process before construction can begin.
Although no opening date has been confirmed, Club 3000 has previously indicated that construction of the new venue is expected to take about 18 months to 2 years once all approvals are in place.
In the meantime, many Bristol players continue to await the return of a permanent Club 3000 venue after the closure of the Broadwalk club, which had served the local bingo community for 12 years.
For the company, the submission of the licensing application is another encouraging sign that its vision for a modern new bingo destination in South Bristol is moving closer to becoming a reality.
