Arkansas Slots Dominate Casino Revenue In 2025

By | April 29, 2026

Slot machines continued to dominate Arkansas casinos in 2025, producing the vast majority of revenue and reinforcing their central role in the state’s gambling industry.

Figures show that the three casinos operating in Arkansas generated a combined $610.27 million in total win from terminal games, marking a 2.8% increase from $593.22 million the previous year. Terminal games accounted for 83% of overall casino revenue, far exceeding contributions from table games and sports betting.

Industry figures define total win, also known as gross gaming revenue, as the difference between wagers placed and payouts before expenses. Despite the growth of other gambling segments, slot machines remain the primary source of income.

Slots Anchor Casino Operations

Casino operators continue to prioritize slot performance, focusing on layout, machine selection, and player experience. Modern machines rely heavily on digital interfaces, offering more interactive features compared with traditional reel-based games.

Robert W. Powell III of the University of Arkansas said slots maintain a strong position due to their reliability. “They’re predictable, high-margin, and deeply embedded in customer behavior. That doesn’t change overnight,” he said. He added that operators now concentrate more on improving efficiency than expanding footprint.“Slots will remain king, but the real story is how operators balance stability with innovation — especially as sports betting and national partnerships reshape the competitive landscape.”

Sports Betting Expands But Remains Limited

Mobile sports betting saw notable growth, reaching $67.92 million in 2025, up 54% from the prior year. Despite that increase, it represented only 9.2% of total revenue.

New partnerships have increased competition in that segment. FanDuel now operates with Oaklawn Sports, while DraftKings partners with Southland Casino Hotel. Saracen Casino Resort continues to run its own platform.

Nationwide figures show a similar pattern, with total casino revenue hitting $78.72 billion in 2025. Slot machines contributed $37.1 billion, accounting for nearly half.

Casino Results And Operational Adjustments

Southland Casino Hotel led in slot revenue with $292.74 million, followed by Saracen Casino Resort at $164.18 million, which posted the largest increase. Oaklawn’s slot revenue remained steady at about $153 million.

Casinos say customer behavior shapes decisions on game placement and floor design. At Saracen, teams analyze player preferences to refine offerings. “We have the best men in the business,” said marketing director Carlton Saffa. “Our slot team has a combined more than 50 years of experience from some of the top casinos in the nation.”

Brian Bass, director of slot performance, described the process: “It’s analytics, a little bit of gut, a little bit of art and a whole lot of collaboration.”

Operators have reduced machine counts in some cases while maintaining revenue, focusing on popular games and more open layouts. Saracen also upgraded seating across its slot floor to improve comfort and encourage longer play.
