Bally’s Corporation has just unveiled that it has obtained the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP), the leading professional beach volleyball organization which hosts some of the longest-running beach volleyball tours in the United States. The acquisition represents yet another step in Bally’s omnichannel growth and distinction strategy, delivering a significant chance for the Company to introduce interactive content into beach volleyball and enhance the traffic to Bally’s platforms while promoting the customer acquisition.
Under the terms of the deal, Bally’s obtained all of AVP’s assets, involving trademarks, AVP America arrangement, membership revenue, digital photo, and video assets, as well as the software for the tournament and management of the league. Bally will further plan to take advantage of the AVP’s distribution channels, along with “Bally Sports” Regional Sports Networks (RSNs), to drive consumer engagement.
Speaking on the new acquisition, SVP Strategy and Interactive, Adi Dhandhania, said:
“The AVP is an attractive asset that complements our rapidly expanding U.S. sports betting vision. Donald and the entire AVP team have done a tremendous job developing the league and transforming it into what it is today, and we look forward to exploring creative ways to amplify and gamify such a dynamic and high-growth sport, providing beach volleyball fans across the nation with unique and interactive content.”
Former owner and CEO of AVP, Donald Sun, said that forming a new relationship with a reliable, forward-looking partner like Bally’s provides the opportunity to create a strategic roadmap that will enhance the sport, expand the foothold, and deliver new resources to better enhance the game and its athletes. He looks forward to being a part of the transition, concentrating on the “best interests of AVP athletes, fans, staff, and partners”.
