Playtech, a technology leader in the online gambling industry, has announced new plans to work together with more Canadian-based partners to expand its presence in the emerging Ontario regulated market. The company is ready to launch multiple partnerships in the country’s second-largest province, suggesting a wave of deals in the coming weeks.
Major Milestone For Playtech In North America
Building on the strategic partnership with NorthStar Gaming signed in January to launch Playtech’s IMS Platform, Casino, Live Casino, Poker, and Bingo software to Canadian audiences, the London-headquartered gaming giant stands ready to cooperate with more operators from the Great White North.
Considering Ontario an incredibly important and highly promising market, Playtech doesn’t hide its ambitious plans for growth in North America’s newest iGaming scene through numerous partnerships with suppliers who have been granted licenses from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
Shimon Akad, COO at Playtech, said:
“This is a significant market in size and a major milestone for Playtech in North America. We are thrilled to have launched with multiple licensees on day one and we are looking forward to continuing to launch with more of our partners in the coming days.
We also expect Ontario to be at the forefront of responsible gambling, where our technology and ability through artificial intelligence to analyse certain player behaviour will be particularly relevant and important.”
Indeed, the regulatory framework in Ontario is designed to ensure full compliance with the highest standards in the area of responsible gambling, providing a wide range of dedicated tools and mechanisms to monitor risks and minimize gambling-related harm.
Strong Emphasis On Player Protection
Globally renowned for its ground-breaking gaming content, Playtech is also well-known for its full commitment to safer gambling and player protection. The same principles apply to the company’s activities in Ontario.
Charmaine Hogan, Head of Regulatory Affairs at Playtech commented:
“As we continue to enhance our efforts on sustainability of the gambling sector in general, we wholeheartedly welcome Ontario’s iGaming market launch. An efficient regulatory framework brings operators and suppliers under local oversight and, as is the case in Ontario, with a strong emphasis on the protection of players from the outset”.
Charmaine Hogan further explained that at Playtech, “artificial intelligence is being used to enable the analyses of player behaviour and flag signs of problematic play early on”. The company provides a wide range of sophisticated technologies and tools, aiming to create “a more responsible and sustainable entertainment industry in the long run”.
Playtech is not a total newcomer to the Ontario market, it has been active in the province through the collaboration with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, providing data analytics technology and other innovative services.
