International Game Technology (IGT) has entered into a significant eight-year agreement with Atlantic Lottery, setting the stage for the introduction of the IntelligenEVO system across the four Atlantic Canadian provinces. This marks the first time a World Lottery Association (WLA) member will deploy the advanced IntelligenEVO platform in a Game-to-System (G2S) distributed video lottery environment.
A First for WLA in a G2S Video Lottery Network
Signed through IGT’s Canadian division, the deal represents a milestone in IGT’s strategy to elevate the infrastructure of regulated lottery markets. The agreement includes provisions for future renewals and will see IntelligenEVO integrated across all video lottery terminals in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
This initiative makes Atlantic Lottery the pioneering WLA-affiliated operator to implement IntelligenEVO within a G2S framework. The new system will enable real-time data capture, enhance analytical capabilities, and offer features designed to improve the player experience.
Michael MacKinnon, Vice President of Product at Atlantic Lottery, highlighted the long-term benefits of the platform, stating that it would allow the organization to “maximize future contributions to good causes while ensuring high standards of security and player satisfaction.”
IGT Doubles Down on Technology Investments
Despite reporting a 12% drop in revenue year-over-year in Q1 2025—falling to $583 million—and a 93% decline in income from continuing operations to $8 million, IGT remains committed to investing in core infrastructure. The company attributed the revenue decrease to reduced jackpot activity in the U.S. and costs related to rebranding.
Still, IGT has stayed active on the investment front. In March, it secured a €1 billion ($1.1 billion) loan, half of which has been designated for its bid in the upcoming Italian Lottery licence competition. The company also earned an iCAP Ready certification from the National Council on Problem Gambling earlier this year, underscoring its focus on responsible gaming.
David Flinn, IGT Canada’s Senior Vice President, emphasized the strategic value of IntelligenEVO, describing it as “a scalable solution informed by decades of operational feedback.” He added, “We look forward to helping the Lottery achieve its growth and player engagement goals.”
Future-Focused System for Responsible Gaming
IntelligenEVO forms a key part of IGT’s broader initiative to modernize lottery systems worldwide. The platform is built to support secure, cloud-enabled operations while promoting responsible gaming practices. The deployment in Atlantic Canada is a clear signal of IGT’s intention to position itself at the forefront of digital transformation in the global lottery sector.
For Atlantic Lottery, the partnership promises to bring enhanced oversight and improved service to players while reinforcing its mandate to generate sustainable contributions to public initiatives across the region.
