The deal provides DraftKings licensing rights for active NFL players, involving the original use of the name, photo, and likeness. This represents the initial integration of gamified NFTs by one of the dominant athlete associations and a giant in sports technology and engagement.

Some of the most awaited features of DraftKings’ gamified NFL player NFTs involve the ability for players to utilize these collectibles within titles against others on the platform plus a special purchasing and selling functionality. It is also anticipated the introduction of a selection of NFT editions and tiers that include different segments of usefulness and digital scarcity, all supplied by Polygon. DraftKings initially disclosed a strategic deal with Polygon to provide a flexible, eco-friendly blockchain product that allows added throughput, smaller transaction costs, and extended capabilities.

This final NFL player NFT incorporation will correspond to DraftKings’ current NFL positions that involve being an Official Daily Fantasy and Sports Betting Partner of the league. Whilst supporters await these future NFT offerings for the following season, NFL sports betting and daily fantasy solutions are already available today on DraftKings via the internet along with mobile apps accessible on iOS and Android.

Speaking on the latest cooperation, SVP of product operations for DraftKings Marketplace, Beth Beiriger said:

“The future of fandom is unfolding in front of us, and few organizations beyond DraftKings are as equipped to capitalize on the increasing intersection between sports and NFTs that will be cornerstones of engagement and entertainment within Web3. We will continuously adapt, innovate and seek progressive collaborators like the NFLPA and OneTeam to reach early adopters among fanbases and ultimately introduce these next-generation products to the masses.”

Sean C. Sansiveri, General Counsel and Head of Business Affairs at NFL Players Inc. says that NFLPA strives to be at the center of innovative solutions, and the evolving landscape of electronic entertainment that provide excitement among customers and fans. They look forward to including NFL players into DraftKings’ NFT adventure to deliver authentic connections for eager fans.
