Playson Expands Compliance Reach into Philippines

By | May 27, 2026

Playson has strengthened its position in regulated gaming markets after securing authorization from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation to distribute its game portfolio in the Philippines. The approval enables the supplier to extend its content reach through an established distribution route operated with Light & Wonder.

Rather than introducing a new operational framework, the entry into the Philippine market builds on Playson’s existing compliance structure. The company already operates across 27 regulated jurisdictions, and this latest approval adds another layer to its international regulatory footprint.

The process leading to approval was completed within days and relied on coordination between Playson and Light & Wonder teams covering sales, integration, architecture, and compliance functions. Both sides aligned technical and operational requirements to support the submission and rollout process.

Playson’s platform required no significant modifications to meet the standards of the Philippine market. The company indicated that its existing infrastructure already aligned with the technical specifications needed for approval, allowing the process to move forward without major system changes.

Established Infrastructure Enables Market Integration

Distribution in the Philippines will take place through Light & Wonder’s aggregation network, giving licensed operators access to Playson’s portfoliounder local regulatory oversight. The arrangement places the supplier’s content within an existing channel already used by operators in regulated environments.

The approval process was described by the companies as a coordinated effort across multiple internal teams. Preparation work already embedded within Playson’s systems supported a faster transition into the new jurisdiction, reducing the need for additional technical development.

The Philippines represents another regulated market within Asia where international suppliers continue to expand under structured licensing frameworks. Oversight by the Philippine regulator ensures that only approved content providers can supply games to licensed operators.

Playson views the approval as an extension of its compliance-led growth strategy. The company emphasized that regulated market expansion remains central to its approach to international distribution and long-term operational positioning.

Regulatory Milestone Reinforces Global Strategy

Ben Wood, Chief Commercial Officer at Playson, commented on the approval: “Securing PAGCOR approval is an important step in Playson’s continued regulated-market growth. The Philippines represents an exciting opportunity for the business, and we are delighted to have achieved this milestone in cooperation with our valued aggregation partner, Light & Wonder.”

He further noted the operational readiness behind the approval process, stating: “This approval reflects the strength of our platform, the readiness of our technology and the expertise of the teams involved. We are proud to bring our product suite to a new audience and to further strengthen our international presence.”

The addition of the Philippines brings Playson’s regulated market count to 27, reinforcing its presence across multiple jurisdictions worldwide. The company continues to rely on aggregation partnerships to support distribution efficiency and maintain compliance across different regulatory environments.

Through Light & Wonder’s infrastructure, Playson’s content will now be accessible to Philippine operators operating under licensing requirements set by the national regulator. The approval reflects ongoing movement within the sector toward structured, compliance-driven market expansion rather than unregulated entry models.
