Playtech has extended its poker technology into North America for the first time, introducing its iPoker network through FanDuel’s recently launched poker offering. The move establishes the company’s presence in regulated poker markets across both the United States and Canada and marks a significant development in its regional growth plans.
Through the agreement, Playtech’s iPoker platform now supports poker play for FanDuel customers located in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ontario. FanDuel becomes the first operator in North America to license Playtech’s poker technology, bringing one of the industry’s longest-running poker networks into a new market.
The rollout follows the launch of PokerStars exclusively on FanDuel, with Playtech providing the technology infrastructure that powers the poker experience available to players in the participating jurisdictions.
FanDuel Becomes First Regional Poker Partner
The partnership gives Playtech entry into several established regulated markets simultaneously. By launching across three US states and the Canadian province of Ontario, the company has secured immediate exposure to a broad player base through a well-known operator.
Playtech described its iPoker network as one of the industry’s most established poker platforms. The company believes the FanDuel agreement strengthens its efforts to increase its presence throughout North America and expand the reach of its gaming technology portfolio.
The launch also represents a notable milestone for Playtech’s poker division, which has operated in multiple international markets but had not previously deployed the iPoker network in North America.
Expansion Supports Wider Regional Strategy
According to Playtech, the agreement aligns with its broader ambitions across regulated gaming jurisdictions in the region. The company continues to pursue opportunities to grow its technology footprint through partnerships with major operators.
Marat Koss, Chief Interactive Gaming Officer at Playtech, commented: “Debuting our industry-leading iPoker platform in North America with a valued partner like FanDuel is a defining moment for Playtech’s North American expansion. We’re immensely proud to bring our poker platform to three major regulated markets and support FanDuel in their mission to deliver a top-tier poker experience to players.”
The executive highlighted the significance of bringing the platform into multiple regulated jurisdictions at launch and emphasized the company’s focus on supporting FanDuel’s poker ambitions.
Award Recognition Adds to Recent Momentum
The North American poker rollout comes during a period of recognition for Playtech’s broader gaming operations.
The company recently announced that it had received the Best Live Casino Supplier award at this year’s EGR Global B2B Awards. Playtech said the recognition reflects the efforts of its live casino team and its focus on customer experience.
In a company statement, Playtech said: “We are thrilled to announce that Playtech has been named Best Live Casino Supplier at this year’s EGR Global B2B Awards.”
The company added: “This award serves as recognition of the Playtech Live team’s commitment to delivering exceptional customer experience.”
With the introduction of iPoker through FanDuel and recognition for its live casino division, Playtech continues to strengthen its position across multiple gaming verticals while expanding its reach in regulated markets.
