The Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) has called on gambling operators and business suppliers to complete preparations before new supplier compliance requirements become mandatory on December 24, 2026.
The regulator issued the reminder as the two-year transition period established under the National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK) approaches its conclusion. Once the deadline passes, suppliers providing critical goods or services to licensed operators will have to meet the applicable licensing or registration requirements, while operators will be responsible for using only registered providers.
Compliance Duties Vary by Supplier Location
The CGA clarified that supplier licensing requirements apply only to businesses established in Curaçao. Those companies must obtain a supplier licence from the regulator and complete registration before continuing to provide critical services or goods.
Businesses based outside Curaçao follow a different process. They are exempt from obtaining a Curaçao supplier licence but must register with the CGA if they provide critical services or products to holders of Curaçao gaming licences. The authority said this registration must be completed by December 24, 2026.
The regulator also reminded operators that Article 5.16(4) of the LOK prevents holders of a Curaçao gaming licence from working with suppliers that have not been registered. Article 5.16(1) further requires the authority to maintain a public register listing approved suppliers.
Registration Process Continues Ahead of Deadline
The CGA has already made supplier licence applications available through its Online Gaming Portal and encouraged Curaçao-based businesses that still require a licence to submit their applications by September 1, 2026. The regulator said filing early will improve the likelihood of obtaining approval before the transition period expires.
Supplier registration for both locally licensed companies and foreign suppliers is expected to begin in October 2026, giving businesses additional time to satisfy the new requirements.
The regulator said suppliers regarded as providing critical goods or services currently include RNG game manufacturers, live dealer studio providers, poker and peer-to-peer software suppliers, lottery providers, sportsbook software suppliers, bet capture and settlement providers, sports betting line and odds providers, and game aggregators. It added that these categories may be revised in the future.
Broader Regulatory Activity Continues
The December deadline also places new obligations on business-to-consumer licence holders, which will need to verify that every supplier providing critical products or services appears on the CGA’s register before engaging them.
The authority urged both suppliers and operators to take the necessary steps now to ensure full compliance before the transition period ends.
The supplier guidance follows several other regulatory actions by the CGA. The authority recently outlined a phased framework governing cryptocurrency use by Curaçao business-to-consumer online gambling licensees. Scheduled for implementation over the next year, the policy covers the handling of cryptocurrency from player deposits and wagers through withdrawals and treasury management.
The regulator has also warned that EZZ.CASINO is falsely presenting itself as licensed by the CGA. According to the authority, the website has not received authorization and is allegedly displaying the CGA logo and Digital Authorisation Seal without permission.
